ESL Teacher Tools is created by a Sydney-based adult migrant English teacher who understands the reality of mixed-level classrooms.
We have taught adult migrant English in community settings — libraries, church halls, community centres — where the learners arrive from a dozen different countries, at completely different levels, with completely different needs.
Some are rebuilding their lives after years of disruption. Some are trying to help their children with homework. Some just want to be able to talk to their neighbours. All of them deserve a lesson that works for them.
The problem we kept running into was the same one every community ESL teacher knows. The resources available were designed for homogeneous classrooms and well-resourced schools. They assumed a language lab, a projector, and thirty minutes of preparation time. Community teachers do not always have any of those things.
And then there were the helpers. Volunteer assistants who showed up every week — warm, willing, and completely unsure what to do. Nobody had built a resource for them.
So we did.
ESL Teacher Tools is built around two practical products that work together.
The Mixed-Level English Class Planner is a free AI lesson generator. Type any topic — any topic at all — and receive a complete lesson in 30 seconds. Activities at three levels. A conversation group resource. Flashcards. And a Helper Teacher Sheet that tells your volunteer exactly what to do, what to say, and what not to do.
The ESL Teacher Tools lesson packs are pre-built, print-ready resources for the topics that come around every year. Reconciliation Week. ANZAC Day. Seeing the Doctor. Catching the Train. Fully scripted. Ready to teach.
Both are built on one belief: community teachers should be able to walk into class prepared, no matter how much time they had to get ready.
That is what this is for.
Mixed-level classrooms are the reality for most community English programs. Every learner — regardless of level — deserves materials that support them at their current stage.
ESL Teacher Tools packs are ready to print and teach. No prep time, no level-sorting, no need to make your own resources from scratch.
Libraries, councils, and volunteer programs are providing an essential service to adult migrants. ESL Teacher Tools is built to support them.
